Vukovarsko – Srijemska County
The Vukovarsko – Srijemska County administrative center is in Vukovar. The county is about 2 and half square kilometers in size and population of about 200.000 people with population density of 80 people in a square kilometer. It is located on the northeast of Croatia, between Dunav and Sava rivers.
The county has 5 larger towns and 26 smaller communities. Towns are Vukovar, Vinkovci, Županja, Ilok and Otok, and smaller communities are Andrijaševci, Babina Greda , Bogdanovci, Borovo , Bošnjaci , Cerna , Drenovci , Gradište, Gunja , Ivankovo , Jarmina , Lovas , Markušica , Negoslavci , Nijemci , Nuštar , Privlaka , Stari Jankovci , Stari Mikanovci , Štitar , Tompojevci , Tordinci , Tovarnik , Trpinja, Vođinci i Vrbanja. Land in this county is very fertile with mould type of ground. Croats live here for more than thousand years. The county has many rivers rich with fish and beautiful oak woods.
In this county the climate is moderate continental and characterized with hot summers and snow filled winters. Highest temperature in a year is 30'C. This county was affected by Croatian independence war in great amount, but this is not the right place for this subject. |
