City of Varaždin

Varaždinska County

On the right side of the river of Drava, on the very north of Croatia, for 9 centuries is standing the city of Varaždin. With the population of 50 thousand people, it is located on a very important but not enough used corridor that connects eastern Europe with the Adriatic see. From the plentiful history of the city should be highlighted the fact that Varaždin was the capital of Croatia from 1767. to 1776. and today is famous as a baroque town. Varaždin is also a student city, and FOI (Faculty of organisation and informatics) makes it the center of informatics, right next to Zagreb. This region is presumed as one of the most developed and it is very good for business. Mild continental climate with the fertile grounds near Drava and Plitvica rivers is good for agriculture and livestock. Those rivers also give the city a very important hydrografic relevance.
