Rijeka is a 45 square kilometers big city with population of about 300 thousand people located in the Primorsko - goranska county. Rijeka is the second biggest city in Croatia with 800 million Kn of budget right next to Zagreb. Rijeka is about 2 hours from Zagreb and 1 hour from Italy. Close are Platak, Opatija, Crikvenica, Krk, Cres, Lošinj, Rab, so Rijeka is in the middle and connects all those places. Rijeka has bus station and railroad station. Airport is also near on the isle of Krk. Rijeka is also famous for the big port with many ships and naval agencies. Rijeka has once yearly a carneval that is third biggest carneval in the world with 8 thousand participants and it is held for 24 years in a row. There are many faculties and student dormitory so Rijeka is full of students from all parts of Croatia. Rijeka is famous for many first class athletes, specialy with the soccer players who are playing in 1. croatian division. HNK Rijeka is allways cheered by faithful Armada fans.
