City of GospicLicko Senjska countyGospić is administrative and cultural center of Ličko – Senjska County. The Area of town was already inhabited in prehistoric, that is proved with many archeological findings. In the time of Romans it was main connection of Siscia and Salona, ancient roman towns. Today it has developed road and railroad traffic. Town is rich with active cultural and sport groups like Croatian hawk training community, foundation of Matica hrvatska, and Gospić singing community “Hrvat”. In Croatian independence war Gospić was, besides Vukovar, one of the most destroyed towns. Home |
