The Koprivni?ko ? Kri?eva?ka County was founded in 1993. Its size is about 1.800 square kilometers and has population of about 125 thousand people. The county has 3 larger towns and 22 smaller communities. The towns are Kri?evci, Koprivnica and ?ur?evac, and the smaller communities are Koprivni?ki Ivanec, Legrad, Molve, Sokolovac, Sveti Ivan ?abno, Ferdinandovac, Gola, Kalinovac, Kalnik, Petranec, Podravske Sesvete, Novigrad Podravski, Novo Virje, Drnje, ?elekovac, Klo?tar Podravski, Koprivni?ki Bregi, Hlebine, Rasinja, Virje, Gornja Rijeka and Sveti Petar Orehovec. Valley of Drava River in this county is considered a natural heritage, and also the area around the Kalnik Mountain. There are more than 28 thousand people working in enterprises. It is said for the county that it is a cradle of Croatian naďve art. The county is located in the northwestern area of Croatia and on a border with Hungary. It also belongs to Pannonian region. The valley of Drava River is on the northeastern part of the county and most of the people there is in agriculture business. For that area is important to say that is rich with oil and natural gas. |
