It is on very important traffic position. It is has very good road connection with Zagreb, Varaždin and Osijek, and trough them with Hungary and Slovenia. All trucks and rigs are passing loaded trough Bjelovar town center which is destroying the town but it is in the plan to build another road around the town to avoid that problem. In the county is a moderate continental climate with cold winters and warm summers. It is rich with the natural resources like oil, silicon sand, clay, natural gas, thermal waters, but they are not used very well. There is a developed cattle breeding. With its amount of large green fields it also has a good predisposition for agriculture. The county is populated with about 140.000 people from whom there are little more women than men. Since 2000, the county has higher mortality then number of born children so the population is decreasing which is worrying.
